In The Garden

Emma Pierson & Jakob Morris

2nd April - 26th April 2026

This exhibition explores themes of devotion, symbolism, and the spiritual charge of the natural world. Through large-scale figurative and floral paintings, we reflect on the meeting of the earthly and the sacred.

The works draw on religious archetypes, alongside flowers and plants as intrinsic symbols of offering, fragility, and transcendence. Together, the paintings invite quiet contemplation, presenting nature as both tangible and ethereal, belonging equally to both the physical and spiritual realms.

Artists Bio:

Emma Pierson is a painter from Los Angeles, currently based in West Yorkshire, UK. Working primarily in oil, she explores inner worlds through figurative and symbolic imagery. Her practice draws on myth, religious iconography, and Romantic and Symbolist traditions. Her paintings often hold beauty and unease in quiet tension, inviting slow looking and contemplation. Pierson is a graduate of Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London.

Jakob Morris is a Yorkshire-based artist working primarily in spray paint and acrylic. His practice blends vibrant street art aesthetics with traditional compositional influences, drawing inspiration from fantasy, urban environments, video games, and contemporary visual culture. His work often combines bold graphic language with narrative undertones, creating images that feel both playful and mythic. A graduate of Chelsea College of Arts, Morris is particularly interested in making work that bridges public-facing visual culture and fine art contexts.
