Painting Photographs

£25.00

Unleash your creativity in this unique photography workshop where we explore the art of painting directly onto photographs and photographic negatives using specialist inks.

Transform your images into vibrant works of art by brightening up portraits or adding a psychedelic, painterly effect to landscapes. Whether you want to subtly enhance your photos or completely reinvent them, this workshop will guide you through the process of creating innovative, evocative imagery by manipulating photographs the old-fashioned way.

Bring along your own photographic prints and negatives to work with, you can create new photographic material to work with by buying, shooting and processing film. Here are some options to do so:

Disposable Cameras: Purchase a disposable camera to capture your own shots beforehand. I recommend Analogue Wonderland as a good place to buy one, they also offer processing.

Borrow a Camera: If you’d prefer not to purchase a camera, you can borrow one from me. Cameras will be available for collection at In a Land ahead of the workshop, please e-mail me to arrange this. Borrowing a camera is free but you will have to purchase your own film (we sell film!) and processing afterwards - I can recommend Take it Easy Lab based in Leeds for processing.

This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to experiment with a hands-on, creative approach to photography. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a complete beginner, you’ll leave with striking, one-of-a-kind creations.

Date: Saturday 4th October
