Tales of the Sea Creative Writing Workshop
Saturday 14th February
12–2pm
Tales of the Sea is a creative writing workshop that drifts through oceanic folklore, salt-soaked myth, and the stranger currents that run beneath the surface of the sea.
Drawing on well-known folk tales set in and around the ocean, we’ll explore stories of longing, transformation, danger, and devotion, alongside more contemporary strands of eco-weird and otherworldly writing. The sea appears here as a living force: seductive, hostile, ancestral, and unknowable.
Through guided discussion, short readings, and a series of imaginative writing prompts, participants will be encouraged to develop new work that responds to maritime myth, coastal landscapes, and the unsettling edges where human stories meet deep water. No prior experience is necessary.
